about

I am Christopher Jordan Balz, a Cincinnati based graphic designer. I started my college career at the University of Cincinnati's College Conservatory of Music, where I majored in Electronic Media. While there I gained a variety of experiences in multimedia production, focusing on video production, and gained an introduction to graphic design. For my final semester I chose to study abroad in Munich, Germany where I was emerced in a culture with a strong history in design. While there, I had an internship opportunity with an organization called little ART. With two other students, I worked on a concept video project as graphic designer. It was at this time that I visited the KMS Design firm in Munich. After visiting the firm and having been highly stimulated working as a Graphic Designer I chose to pursue a career in Graphic Design. I now study at the Art Academy of Cincinnati for a second BFA, this one in Visual Communication Design. I currently work for the Art Academy in the Information Technology Department where I do a variety of duties including design, print, repair, and Macintosh administration. I am an active member and president of the AIGA Chapter at the Art Academy and an avid supporter of the city of Cincinnati. After graduation I hope to live and work in Cincinnati.
